The Council of Canadians
–Are GMOs in their current state (that is corporate driven GMO research) the answer to World Hunger? The answer is a big no. Corporations are not concerned with the poor. The poor cannot make people rich because the poor have no money to buy high tech food. The problem is not making food it is transporting the food to the areas of need.

Backgrounder for Political Action: CUPE Takes on the Rae Report (Canadian Union of Public Employees)
–CUPE takes issue with the current report on university funding. There needs to be greater public money going to universities not more private money. There also needs to be a larger amount of money going to the poor and the lower middle classes so that they can afford to go to school.

US Says It Has Withdrawn From World Judicial Body
–So much for the US being part of international law. It now thinks that it can do what ever it likes… that is to say that the US Adminstration can do what ever it likes. The people in the US need to take back their government.

MoveOn.org: Making Peace With the War in Iraq
–So much for MoveOn.org being a grassroots level organization. The Authoritarian leaders have decided that the group is no longer for bringing home the troops from Iraq… despite what the people say. This is not a surprise because MoveOn is really just an activist group of Democrats.

rabble.ca - in his own words: The last straw: Boycott the U.S.
–People are getting angry. I do not think that isolationism is the answer but I think that we need to start refocusing our markets elsewhere. We need to start trading with countries that play by the rules and we need to start folowing the rules ourselves.

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | Blair challenges world to end ‘obscenity’ of African poverty
–Chanllenge the world and then do nothing about it yourself… I think Blair needs to take a look in the mirror. Does he really think that his little wars and backing of dictators is helping the poor and the starving?

CBC News: Jetsgo shuts down, strands travellers
–The down side to small independent (vulnerable to market forces) airlines? I think that if Canada is going to have an airline it should be a national publicly funded airline. We pay taxes now to have air transport, if the companies keep going under then maybe we should pay a tiny bit more and nationalize (Crown Corporation) the current system.
