I just reviewed a report by the Child Care Human Resources Council (not exactly a progressive institution) that claimed an investment of only $1 million in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector could create as many as 40 jobs. This “financial assistance” could have been invested into public infrastructure with much more dramatic and far reaching results.
