The Cuban government has tweaked its programme to develop more small-scale farming.

“[The] government says it has lent 1.7 million acres of unused state land in the past year to 82,000 Cubans in an effort to cut imports, which currently make up 60 percent of the country’s food supply. … The state still sets the price — but the more the farmers produce, the more they sell. They also try to grow better-quality produce, which fetches a higher price. [Farmers] are not told what to plant.”

Canada [will] pay 68 million dollars.

“The provincial debt in New Brunswick increased by $438.6 million in the 2008-09 fiscal year, more than three times the amount projected in the Liberal government’s budget… the government collected less than it expected in mining and corporate income taxes, but more than projected in harmonized sales tax and personal income tax.”

It is because they support the goals of the coup-government.

“Hatred of Jews lingers on, but discrimination against Jews is no longer common … This is particularly evident in the Middle East, where there is no historic tradition of anti-Semitism. It is not surprising that many victims of Israel’s crimes blame the Jews. The Israeli government’s actions create a hearing for anti-Semitism.”

Acoustic and Chemical Attacks on the Brazilian Embassy

“Interim [sic] government spokesman [sic] says two outlets have been taken off the air under a government emergency decree announced late Sunday that limits civil liberties and allows authorities to close news media … Protesters say at least 10 people have been killed since the coup, while the government puts the toll at three.”

“[By suspending the constitution, the coup-government has] empowered police and soldiers to break up ‘unauthorised’ public meetings, arrest people without warrants and restrict the news media … The measure empowers police and soldiers to arrest without a warrant … The measure also permits authorities temporarily to close news media outlets”
