“The proposed privatization of Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission amounts to the selling out of New Brunswick’s injured workers. It’s bad enough that over the last 16 years, both the Conservative and Liberal governments have been eroding rehabilitation services just to ensure cheaper assessment rates. Now the liberals intend to privatize a Crown corporation.
Shame on them! Privatization of the WHSCC will lead to a staggering decrease in services and accessibility. Privatization will result in fees for service, increased wait times and increased claims periods.”

–Some reasoned analysis from Seymour here. The Dems are not friendly to the working class, but given the realities of the US political system over the next week a vote for any alternative to the crazies that are the Republicans seems obvious. The condition for that is the need to mobilized for real change after the election.

–If it doesn’t completely trash the way that our corporate TV owners do things then it isn’t worth the paper it is written on. Could Canadian TV get much worse? The fact that the CRTC is even considering loosening rules around Canadian content is disturbing. We should stand with our Canadian artists and demand better support for the Arts, not less.
