An emphatic ‘yes’

Irving uses its media monopoly to plug its own land deals. If there ever was an argument for breaking up a monopoly… Irving makes the case. Also by emphatic, Irving means 9 out of 12 people on the street.

    Wow, are you kidding me? how can you be happy that something that monsterous would be moving there. those are some serious high and dangerous tides. not to mention there is nothing about an environemental impact. which there will be.
    i feel sorry for st. john being pushed around by irving, whats worse is that somehow they sell it to the local people as if its a good thing.
    what a shame!

    Well of course an Irving owned newspaper is going to report ONLY positive comments about this whole deal. Note how they tried to create an air of extensive support by supplying commentary by a variety of sources, the first few seem suspect to me.

    I would like to know what the actual level of community support is, but I guess we won’t know by looking at Irving papers…
