“Sources say that the young men did not know that the five plain-clothed and undercover, white, Black and Latino shooters were cops … It is known that the man who began firing, even though there was never any return fire, reloaded his weapon, and had been drinking in the strip club –apparently as part of his undercover look … On Wednesday December 6, 2006, the Brooklyn-based December 12th Movement will be organizing a protest rally at One Police Plaza at 4.30pm, to “resist the rise of fascism and the rise of the American police state.”
This is a fairly under-reported news story. However, tensions in Queens, New York are extremely high after 5 of New York’s finest opened fire and killed 3 Black/Afro-American men as they were leaving a bachelor party for one of the now-deceased.

–The world seems to only be able to concentrate on up to 2 conflicts at once… or at least the media seem to be able to concentrate on only 2 conflicts at once. You would think that in a world of 24 hour news services you would be able to cover all the conflicts in the world and all the problems with the current system… you would think that if you did not understand that the current system cannot allow such investigation.

–Everyone should be very concerned with this. We must stand up for women’s rights. We must stand against the Conservatives’ attacks not them.

–It is important that people understand that there is a popular uprising going on in Mexico and the people are being killed and disappeared by the State machinery. We stand in solidarity with the people and students of Oaxaca.

–A closer look at the Conservative’s “economic” plan. Much like most things that the Conservatives produce, this plan is based little on reality and a whole lot on the hope no one will notice that they haven’t a clue.

–I have to say that I get nervous when I see reports like this released from the embassies of the US. Chavez will win by a landslide so the only political disturbances will come from the upper classes and those that are losing the right to oppress the masses legally.

–When is the world going to wake-up to this? In Europe they seem to have a better understanding of the complexities of these continents. If anyone has any good news analysis about these conflicts please forward them on.

–There is a disconnect between those that have power and the priorities of the general population. This kind of thing is not acceptable and there should be consequences.

–The Conservatives continue to court bigots and racists. Some things never change. We must vote them out of power… but be careful, there are many Liberals who hold the same views as their Conservative buddies.

–If we actually had an economic plan not based on myth and blind faith in the free market to solve our problems then we might not be in this mess. We need to start giving our students the means to invest what they learn in university and college in building something here. Value added applies to people as much as it does to products they make. We must re-invest some of that money that is going to the Irvings back to the workers that deserve it.

“Indeed, today’s imagery goes far beyond Rosie the Riveter. The wives and sweethearts left behind, England, Duckworth, Jessica Lynch, as well as Iraqi and Afghani women have now become the feminine archetypes of militarism … we need to do some serious deconstructing of the images of these women that have been presented to us by the media and the military in order to really see the truth of how women participate in militarism and how that impacts their lives.”

–Free press apparently doesn’t mean anything in Mexico. We must all stand in solidarity with the people of Oaxaca and demand justice. The fight against the corruption and undemocratic acts of violence against them is the right of the people.
