–There is no way workers should put up with the increase in working years before they get a pension. Just because we are living longer does not mean that we should be working longer as well. What is the point of putting money into prolonging life if the capitalists just demand that we work more for less and cannot enjoy the added years?

–Every year we talk about poverty not being a seasonal issue and every year it remains one in the eyes of the “public”. The system needs to change before this can end.

–Aboriginal communities need more autonomy over the spending of their money… this might do this. However, I would like to see what the people in the communities themselves have to say about what is needed.

–I just have to shake my head at the idea that Via Rail is trying to make money… how can a mass transit system make money and pay its workers anything at all? Support the workers, renationalize the rail system.

–Douglas Ireland does an analysis of the current moves in French politics. I would ask: can the Communist Party in France ever actually stick to its convictions? Joining the Socialists and the Greens who tried to sell out all working people of France (and Europe) over the constitution after helping to orgainze the “Non” vote against the EU Consitution? Are they mad (or just opportunists)? They should have joined with the other parties on the Left and actually presented an alternative to the Socialists and Green coalition.
