rabble columns: Does television turn you off? by Rick Salutin
–An article about the terrible stuff on TV and why it is shoved on us with an unrelenting zeal by the press. The same companies that own the news own the TV stations is the short answer from me… this is fitting since Bush’s address to the US was cut short for the “Simple Life”.

rabble.ca – in his own words: Is there still a dream?
–The answer is yes there is a dream but it does not exist within the minds of the heads of state. They are too busy trying to open up markets and feed the machine.

rabble news – A new election demands a new analogy: by Scott Piatkowski
–A look at what a new election will bring. The Conservatives are going to send us to the polls… all I can say is that the people should vote NDP if they are upset at the Liberals… not Conservative.

News: Flat tax revolution sweeps in from Eastern Europe
–Remember that Economist Mag story that I linked about flat tax? Well there are some people that obviously really think that it is a good idea in Europe. Take a read of this. Here is the story from the Economist. Flat taxes are a really bad idea for the general public… they are a dream from capitalists.

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | Global warming rate discovered
–This is not really science but I thought it was interesting. The scientists in Science Mag have discovered the “real” rate of warming of the earth. The point here is that the world is really warming and that the earth is doomed unless we do something to change the way we are consuming the resources on this planet.

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | Incoming cloud forces Bush into safe bunker
–Yes the super high tech US defence department mistook a cloud for an attack on the US. Don’t you feel safe with the same system protecting them from enemy missiles? It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

CBC News: Election would doom Atlantic Accord: NDP
–Say goodbye to all those Liberal promises (not as if they were going to keep them anyway). If there is an election all the negotiation that have happened over the last year are pretty much non-existent.

Harper: the Grim Reaper of Canadian politics
–Many names come to mind when Harper is mentioned. I can tell you that none of them are good. It is a shame that the media is so blindly reporting what is going on in the Canadian political system right now. We need more analysis of what the parties are promising and saying. Longterm predictions of the different outcomes.
