Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | Russia falls in freedom ratings
–HA! Freedom Rating?!? What is that? If Americans are free and the Russians are not then there is a problem with the scale (or the people who are running it). Democratic freedom in the US is about to be lost…. where is that story?

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | 100,000 flee fresh fighting in Congo
–Humanitarian disasters are all the rage these days. Something has got to change. The Left is not organised enought to deal with all these disasters, we need to foment opposition and a response to our governments’ policies. It is the only way that we are going to be able to help ourselves help others.

CBC News: Canadian election observers head to Ukraine
–The idea that monitors during the polls are all that you need for democracy to take place is the biggest sham out there. People need to be more questioning of the whole process or we are never going to have participation and knowledge at the levels needed for real democracy.

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | ANC attacks US over Aids drug
–This is an interesting deveolpment. The ANC is accusing US drug companies (and thus the US government) of treating the African people as guinea pigs in AIDS drug trials. This puts a different spin on the economic benefits of giving these drugs away. If it is true then people should have something to say and do about it.
