TheStar.com - Hands off our oil money, Klein warns Ottawa
–Isn’t it great how Klein actually believes that Alberta owns the oil? There has to be better cooperation between this province and the federal government. We are a republic after all, are we not? The money cannot all stay in Alberta while the rest of the country is in need of resources. We are part of a republic because as a whole we are stronger than as parts. That means that money has to be able to flow to the feds before it goes to the provinces.

News
–This is new. The IMF has told Britain that it is spending too much. That’s a laugh, they are not spending enough on social services. The NIH is in a terrible position and education is at an all time low.

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | EU pays to stem Russia’s sewage
–This is strange. The EU is paying for the clean-up of Russian waste water. Seems like if the EU has the money and Russia does not then it is fine. Not sure here.

CAW - TCA CANADA : News
–Jim Stanford gives us a run-down of the latest numbers. Basically, money is moving out of the peoples’ pockets and into the hands of big business. This does not bode well for the state of the people.

CBC News: Smokers’ rights group takes to the web

A Personal Statement RE Z/ZNet (ZNet Blog)
–This is a statement by Noam Chomsky on the relavence of Z-Mag and Z-Net. This is the place that a lot of the original pieces posted on my blog on social issues comes from. It is a place that stores the interviews and hosts the real debates on social issues. Have a read of this note and then take a look round. If you like what you see then I would suggest that you donate. Even a little goes a long way when it comes to grassroots movements. Z-Net
