Iran-Cda-Kazemi, 2nd Writethru
–Iran has changed the official report that states how Kazemi died. Now, I think that Canada has milked this and distorted this story for its own end but there has been equal distortion on Iran’s side as well.

CBC News: Premiers plot health care strategy
–The provinces should not have to have a strategy to get more money for health care. The Liberals have to follow through or our health system will not survive and neither will we.

rabble columns
–Outsourcing of provincial government projects leads to taxes being sent to other nations. Why do we not build government run projects (like the ferries) in the province?

ZNet |Science | The Corruption (and Redemption) of Science
–This is an interesting retort to the Monbiot article about the corruption of science by the Bush administration and the corporations funding science these days. This article is not so much saying that science is not being corrupted but instead says that it is not a conspiracy but more the outcome of the market system. Either way, I think that this needs to be examined and taken seriously by the public.

There can be no quick fix in Sudan
–Another article about Sudan. This guy has 25 years of experience in the Sudan. This is an important topic and is not getting the attention in the media it deserves, even if the attention is more than the Rwandan crisis got.

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | Sudan to face ‘genocide’ inquiry
–The term “Genocide” is being concidered by the UK to attach to the Sudan crisis. The legal obligation if the term was to be adopted would be that something would need to be done to stop it. I think that the moral obligation would be to do something now…. the question is: Will it involve the international community as a whole?

BBC NEWS | Africa | New militia atrocities in Sudan
–Burning people alive and other horrible murders are still being carried out in the Sudan. Why does it take such a long time for the world to act in these cases but when it comes to oil we can invade a country in the same amount of time?

CBC News: NDP disputes results in 2 Saskatchewan ridings
–The NDP need to make sure they have all the seats they should have won. Why is it that this is frowned upon in the media? If the voters voted for one person and the other person got it, how is that democracy?

–America is the land of the freely to be incarcerated. 2 Million in jail. Most are minorities. Something is not right. Something has not been right for a long time. Mostly it is the conservative view that everyone should be in jail if they are not rich or supplying the rich with goods.

–The Israeli right-wing government is still up-holding the law that does not allow families to visit one another. If the security is this much of a threat why do they keep doing things that make it worse?

Guardian Unlimited | Special reports | Israel expands West Bank settlements
–Land grab is more evident from aerial photos. I just wonder, in a capitalist society what is the benifit of having these areas that are basically just sucking the money out of the economy?

Convention Demonstration Zone is a Dark, Shadowy Place
–Check out this picture of the “free speech zone” in Boston. Why is it that people are not wildly upset about this. There is no room in a country for Free Speech zones because everywhere is a free speech zone.

Poll: Delegates Much More Progressive than Kerry on Key Issues
–The Democrats are not the party of the people… it is too bad because if they were they would win in a landslide. Even the people at the convention are more left than Kerry.
